TENDING

The Future

by Olivier PEZENNEAU

A vine often has a longer lifespan than that of a single generation. This longevity creates a special link between the vine and the successive generations that tend it. Each vine requires particular attention to reach its full potential, relying on skills and know-how that have been handed down through time by the four generations that came before me.
I have taken up to relay and am contributing to developing the family estate I steward. My profession is my passion and I am committed to sharing everything I love about it with my children, who are already learning the intricacies of the job and who are soaking up the spirit of our land to tend the future.

TENDING

Terroirs

by Olivier PEZENNEAU

Covering 17 ha / 42 acres, historically, our estate found its home in Le Pays des Pierres Dorées – golden stone country (southern Beaujolais), where today we grow the Chardonnay grapes for our white Beaujolais Blanc and sparkling Crémant de Bourgogne.
Today, we also tend vineyards that are further north in the prestigious appellation areas of Brouilly, Côte-de-Brouilly, Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent, tending Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc vines.

As we tend the vines and land every day, our aim is to produce quality grapes and wines. We rely on tending techniques that have been perfected for today’s sustainable tending approach, opting for eco-friendly integrated methods that aim to limit the impact of our work on the environment.
Viticulture combined with winemaking is a complex profession, where you need to have knowledge of all the intricacies of each soil and work with wide ranging weather conditions. You need to know all about vinification, tasting and sales and to be able to learn from every lived experience in the field, while listening closely to the people who actually drink our wines. An infinitely rich profession.

CULTIVATING

Elegance

by Olivier PEZENNEAU

Having our estate vineyards in two different areas means that we can bring you wines that express two totally different terroirs. The southern end of the appellation with its limestone-clay soils is eminently suited to Chardonnay, which we craft into Beaujolais Blanc (elegant with great aromatic complexity) or sparkling Crémant de Bourgogne.
To the north, the granitic sand soils beautifully showcase Gamay Noir à Jus Blanc, giving us supple and fruity wines with lovely refined tannic structure: we are proud to present our Beaujolais Crus: Brouilly, Côte-de-Brouilly, Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent.

Our greatest reward is when people enjoy the fruits of our skills and labours.
Whether you are a budding or veteran taster, come and find out about our wines, universe, vinegrower-winemaker profession and, more generally the world of agriculture. We are always delighted to share our love for our land and wines.
The time we spend together will also be a great opportunity for us to tell you all about our terroir and to give you our favourite addresses (places to visit and good places to eat etc.). Welcome to our tasting cellar.
Bienvenue en Beaujolais ! Welcome to Beaujolais!
